Google has recently debuted its new shopping platform including direct checkout and strong personalization for the users in the US.  When surfers log on with their Google account, they will see an overview of categories, boxes to show recommended products, entitled “Picks for you” and “Inspired by your Google activity”. Nearby brick-and-mortar stores are also shown, sometimes including the possibility to browse through their stock. Searching for products has also been made easier with the results sorted and filtered by price, brand or “deals”. The Google Shopping page even comes with its own shopping cart, allowing visitors to bundle their purchases before checking out. Notably, Google will not start warehousing or shipping products but will offer the “Buy with Google Guarantee” on select products, which will refund customers if they do not receive a timely and accurate delivery. This move by Google is certainly going to extend beyond traditional product search into voice search, given the fact that the AI-powered Google Assistant already is integrated into Google Shopping Actions, and is surely going to delight a lot of online shoppers who had to switch between pages but not now.

     According to Google, this new Google Shopping platform will become available in other regions this year as it has already been tested in India and France.
