Samsung Electronics on Tuesday unveiled a foldable smartphone—Galaxy Z Flip—shaped like a large makeup compact. Last year's Galaxy Fold, Samsung’s first attempt at a folding phone that folded like a book but was panned for its brittle construction, plastic screen and cost, it was nearly US$2,000. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip with folding glass looks like a large square when closed and expands to look like most smartphones. It will start at $1,380 and be available from Friday in purple, gold and black.
     With its second inning, Samsung with the “Galaxy Z Flip” is striving to retain the mantle of biggest global phone company from rivals Apple and Huawei.
